Vodafone Ghana Awards Best Graduating Student In Computer Engineering

In keeping with  its commitment to empower the development of more brains in the technology and computer  science field,  Vodafone Ghana has awarded  Laurabel Amorin for emerging as best graduating student in Computer Engineering at the recently held University of Ghana Vice Chancellor’s Ceremony in honour of Academic Award Winners for the 2013/2014 Academic Year.

Vodafone Ghana Foundation, the charitable arm of the business, has been very committed to empowering people through education. This effort can be seen through its programmes such as the FESSP (Female Engineering Students Scholarship Project), where brilliant but needy females studying Engineering are given scholarships.

Vodafone Ghana has also partnered British Council to sponsor the education of 100 female JHS students interested in studying Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics related subjects.

Commenting on the award presented to Laurabel Amorin, Patricia Obo – Nai, Chief Technology Officer of Vodafone Ghana said, “We are very passionate about education, especially, supporting those who have great potential but no one to support them.

We will continue to discover avenues to support those who need to be pushed in order to put smiles on their faces.”

In response to the gesture done her, Laurabel Amorin, who took the Vodafone award for Best Graduating Student in Computer Engineering, said,” I am sincerely grateful to Vodafone Ghana for this remarkable award and l will continue to work hard to achieve my dreams.”
