Politics Is About Hypocrisy...But George Andah, K. Oppong Nkrumah & Co Are Opportunists

Central Regional Chairman of the governing National Democratic Congress (NDC), Allotey Jacobs has described some of the Parliamentary aspirants hoping to stand on the ticket of the New Patriotic Party in various constituencies as "opportunists", further claiming that politics is all about hypocrisy.

According to him, the NPP is on a mission to incite the masses against the government.

He told host of Peace FM's "Kokrokoo" Morning Show, Kwami Sefa Kayi that the decision by George Andah, a former Executive of OccupyGhana, a pressure group and Kojo Oppong Nkrumah, former host of Joy FM's Super Morning Show do not come to him as a surprise because they are only seizing the moment to champion their own courses.

To him, the move by these aspirants and others is a calculated attempt by the pressure group through the NPP to organize a people's revolt against the NDC government.

There’s no avenue for the opportunist than to join the NPP. So, I’m not surprised. I’m not surprised seeing some personalities joining the NPP. I was however expecting that Oppong Nkrumah will contest in his hometown…It’s time for the opportunist to also take advantage of the situation.”

Politics is about sycophancy, hypocrisy, conspiracy and opportunism. They tested the ground. They wanted to organize a people’s revolt against the NDC government under President Mahama’s Presidency", he stressed and further added that despite the plots by the NPP, the government remains resolute in its operations.

NDC as a government has a firm standing. Ghanaians also have accepted that, whatever may come; President Mahama and NDC government is the right government in the country. So, all the threats and machinations will yield nothing…So, the best option for the opportunist now is to join the NPP," he added.
