NPP desperate For Power But They Wont Make It - Alhaji Bature

The Managing Editor of the Al-Hajj Newspaper, Alhaji Bature Iddrisu has predicted that the New Patriotic Party's efforts to win the 2016 elections will be in vain.

According to him, the NPP’s criticisms on government, including claims that the Mahama administration will not be able to manage the bailout it has received from the International Monetary Fund (IMF) will all fail because the NPP is full of hot air.

Outlining the achievements of the NDC government on Adom FM on Wednesday April 8, 2015, Alhaji Bature stressed that men and women at the wheel of national development have managed to steer the ship of state on a fairly even keel without the aid of the IMF, and the help from the international financing body is just to make life easier for the ordinary Ghanaian.

The NPP's rejection of IMF help is a ‘mere statement’ made to score political points, Alhaji Bature asserted. The governing board of IMF has approved Ghana’s application for a financial bailout to help salvage its economy. The country is expected to receive USD918 million spread over three years.

Per the agreement, USD300 million will be released to Ghana every year until the expiration of the agreement.

Also speaking on the show, the Member of Parliament (MP) for Effutu Constituency, Alexander Afenyo Markins Wednesday criticized the NDC for always relying on loans to build the economy. “Is this government telling Ghanaians that they will build a strong economy with the IMF loan? Even if they should take all the monies in this world, they can never do anything with that money” he stated.

But the Managing Editor of Al- Hajj Newspaper disagrees. He described the IMF bailout as a bold decision which will redirect the nation.

“The IMF bailout will only help us with technical issues in the country. There are things that this government has done even without the IMF bailout and so if the NPP says that we cannot live without the IMF bailout then they must be joking.

“The NPP are so desperate to win 2016 but I must say that they cannot make it. The president is on the right track, we need to help him to build the economy” he stressed.
