Girl with Stolen Motorbike Arrested

An 18-year-old girl is assisting the Wa Police to investigate the rampant motorbike thefts in the town after she was arrested for attempting to sell a stolen motorbike. Rahima Abdulai is currently assisting the Upper West Regional Police Command to fish out accomplices of a suspected motorbike stealing syndicate for arrest and prosecution. According to the Upper West Regional Police Commander, Deputy Commissioner of Police, Mr Kwasi Mensah Duku, his outfit had information that a motorbike with registration number M-15-UW-408 had been offered for sale in town. He said the police feigned interest, and while transacting business to purchase the bike, the police found Abdulai to be the unlikely owner. Shocking admission He said the suspect admitted during interrogation that she indeed stole the bike from Rahama Abudi some time in January, this year. She also admitted to be a part of a gang whose membership were made up of both males and females. The police said investigations were still ongoing to track down the other gang members. More arrests In another development, the police have arrested two suspected armed robbers in separate operations. Malik Ahmed, 35, and Abu Abdulai, 28, who were suspected to be part of a seven-member gang terrorising residents along Kejikperi, Wahabu, Issa and Fian stretch of the Upper West Region, were arrested upon a tip off. The police said Ahmed, who was arrested at one of his mechanic shops at Kejikperi, was suspected to be the leader of the gang.
