Mr. Ayisi Boateng, a leading member of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) from the Ashanti Region, has cautioned aspirants for the upcoming parliamentary primaries in the party, to desist from misusing the name of Nana Akufo Addo for pecuniary advantage.
Nana Akufo Addo last year won by an overwhelming majority, the mandate to lead the NPP. However, according to Mr. Ayisi Boating it has come to his notice that some people are misusing the name of Nana Akufo Addo to boost their parliamentary campaign.
Mr. Ayisi Boateng said Nana Akufo-Addo remain the property of the entire membership of the NPP. “He belongs to all the candidates of the party, and it would be unseemly and divisive for anybody to seek to abuse his name for his personal advantage,” Mr. Ayisi Boateng said.
He also called on all aspirants to ensure that they desist from abusive conduct and behavior. “We are going into an election in which it would be crucial that we are united. It is therefore necessary that at this point, we all avoid acts and conduct that would break our front,” he said.
