A Task Force comprising personnel from the Driver, Vehicle and Licensing Authority (DVLA) and the Motor, Traffic and Transport Division (MTTD), at the week end arrested Isaac Enyan and Joseph Tandoh, in Takoradi for allegedly producing and selling fake road worthiness stickers.
Mr Emmanuel Narh, Western Regional Head of the DVLA, told newsmen in Takoradi that the suspects were arrested during investigations into the source of fake road worthiness stickers on some vehicles in the Metropolis.
Mr Narh said Enyan was the first to be arrested, and upon interrogation he mentioned Tandoh's name as an accomplice.
He said Tandoh, a frequent visitor to the offices of the DVLA, was also arrested and handed over to the Police, when on one of his visits, an informant pointed him out to officials of the Authority..
Mr. Narh said it was unfortunate that about four months after the introduction of the electronic road worthiness stickers, people were still forging stickers.
He urged the public to contact the DVLA when they have problems with the licensing of their vehicles.
