Murtala Must Be Reprimanded; He Should Be Careful Or Else. Kweku Baako

Editor-In-Chief of the New Crusading Guide newspaper, Abdul Malik Kweku Baako Jr has asked the Member of Parliament for Nantong, Murtala Mohammed to be mindful of his utterances and actions as he risks losing his seat.

Murtala, who doubles as the Deputy Minister of Trade and Industry, was caught in a web of controversy when he made some shocking allegations during an interview with Tamale based, Diamond FM.

In a vituperative outburst, he bemoaned attempts by an unnamed Member of Parliament (MP) to unseat him in his constituency.

He alleged that the said MP hired a lady to take nude pictures of a Cabinet Minister hoping such information will be used to sabotage the Cabinet Minister. He further accused the unnamed colleague MP of greasing the palms of chiefs and opinion leaders in the Northern Region with “filthy, ill-gotten money.”

Even though many people have called for the head of the Deputy Minister, government is yet to respond.

Kweku Baako during a panel discussion on PEACE FM's morning show 'Kokrokoo' said he will not be surprised if Murtala becomes ‘a victim of any reshuffle’ from the presidency.

“Those allegations must be investigated; my own independent shows some of them are not sustainable…he must be reprimanded. I will not be surprised if he becomes a victim of any reshuffle. He should be careful or else he will lose the primaries as a sitting MP. And so we are waiting to hear what the system will say officially. In the name of transparency governance, we should know government’s stance on it,” he said.
