Itll Be A Tough Contest

Anyaa/Sowutuom Constituency Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the Greater Accra region, Albert Ekow Sam, has observed that the upcoming parliamentary primaries in the area would be keenly contested.

He admitted this in an interview with Today on Tuesday, April 14, 2015, saying “no aspirant will find the contest easy.”

He, however, noted that it would be tough for the male aspirants as the Anyaa/ Sowutuom NPP chairman claimed women were usually favourites in such contests.

He disclosed that so far among the three (3) people who had picked nomination forms, the incumbent Member of Parliament (MP), Shirley Ayorkor Botwe, was the only female amongst them.

The remaining two, he said, were the former polling station chairmen of the party, Eric Nti, and a medical practitioner, Doctor Dickson Kissi.

While tipping that the pendulum would tilt in favour of the incumbent, he indicated however that anyone who would work hard could win the primaries.

According to him, the closing date for the submission of the forms is April 30, 2015.
