ECG Disconnects Power Supply House Over Illegal Connection

The Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) has disconnected power supply to 16 tenants in a house at Lapaz (Abrantee), a suburb of Accra, for illegal connection of power.

The disconnection exercise was due to a tip-off  the company received from the Daily Graphic.

The tenants had used wires to connect the main pole to the meters in their homes, thereby enjoying free electricity for a period.

According to the landlady, 76, who resides in Cape Coast and wants to remain anonymous, she discovered their act when she went to the house to collect her rent.
