Vote For MPs Who Can Become Ministers Mamponghene

The Paramount Chief of Asante-Mampong Traditional Area, Daasebre Osei Bonsu II, has advised members of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) and the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the Mampong Constituency to vote for a Member of Parliament (MP) who can ultimately become a minister to accelerate development in the area.

He noted that since the demise of Mr R. R. Amponsah, who was appointed as minister during the Busia administration, none of the MPs from the constituency had been considered for ministerial appointment.

Daasebre Osei Bonsu gave the advice when the MP for Mampong, Mr Francis Addai-Nimoh, and his supporters joined Daasebre and his chiefs and elders to celebrate the Akwasidae festival.

Mr Addai-Nimoh used the platform to thank the Omanhene and his chiefs and elders for giving him their blessing when he offered himself to vie for the NPP flag bearer position.

He noted that though he did not win, his involvement in the competition had brought about prestige, recognition and respect for both the traditional area and the Mampong Municipality.

He again pleaded with Daasebre for another blessing as he had decided to once again seek re-election as MP of the constituency in the upcoming NPP primaries  which would take place  on June 13, 2015.

It has become a tradition for Mr  Addai-Nimoh to seek the blessings of Daasebre, his chiefs and elders anytime he is to stand for elections.

The Mamponghene assured him of his personal support and that of the queen and chiefs in the constituency.
