Let's Celebrate The Life Of Late Madam Theodosia Okoh - Fred Agbenyo

NDC Deputy Communications Director, Fred Agbenyo has commiserated with the family of Ghana's national flag designer, Madam Theodosia Salomey Okoh.

Madam Theodosia Okoh passed away at the age 93 at the Narh Bita Hospital.

She designed Ghana's historic national flag which is symbolic of the toils and struggles of the country's forefathers.

Speaking on Peace FM's Morning show "Kokrokoo", Fred Agbenyo implored Ghanaians not to mourn the late Madam Theodosia Okoh but celebrate her life as a national hero.

According to him, she left behind an indelible mark of patriotism and greatness, which cannot be undermined.

Her contributions to nation building before her demise, to Fred Agbenyo, will always be remembered in the annals of Ghana's history.

“I don’t think we should be mourning her. We should rather be celebrating her for attaining such age before departing from us. In due time, I want to see the whole country rallying around and give her that befitting burial she deserves.”

Also touching on the issue, Sammy Awuku, NPP National Youth Organizer expressed profound gratitude to the late Madam Theodosia Okoh for her selfless and nationalistic values.

He was of a particular view that the nation's leaders and heroes should begin to compile the memoirs to help guide the next generations.

Kwesi Pratt, Managing Editor of the Insight newspaper, also stressed the need for governments to honour the gallant heroes of the nation.

He called on the State leadership and the media not to only recognize them when they depart from the face of the earth or after their demise but even when they are alive; they need to be acknowledged.

He disclosed that the personal Secretary to Ghana's first President Dr. Kwame Nkrumah is still alive and deserve to the recognition of the entire nation.
