Lion Chases Girl�s Killers

THE GREATER Accra Regional Minister Nii Laryea Afotey-Agbo aka Lion, has tasked the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) of the Ghana Police Service to bring the influential personalities said to be behind the killing of the 7-year-old girl at Atadeka, a new settlement in the Kpone-Katamanso district, to face the full rigors of the law.

According to the minister, the police should investigate the allegations made by the residents of the area that a certain Mallam and a businessman whose names were not mentioned, were behind the criminal act.

He made the call when he visited the residence of the deceased, which is in the same vicinity where the lifeless body was found naked and covered with a mosquito net a few days ago.

The minister, who doubles as Member of Parliament (MP) for the area, also presented an amount of GH¢1,000 to the bereaved family to support them in their preparation towards the funeral of the late primary one pupil, before he visited the scene of the crime to have firsthand information about it.

He consoled the bereaved family and assured the residents of his readiness to ensure that justice is done.

Ruth Ankomah, a primary one pupil, was found dead in a container belonging to Lucas Agbadzi, a 20-year-old mason who hails from Togo and domiciled in Ghana.

She was reported to have been defiled by the suspect before strangling her to death.

According to the police, Lucas Agbadzi, during interrogation, had admitted that he committed the crime, indicating that he committed the heinous act with some other people who are yet to be arrested by the police.
