The Deputy Northern Regional Minister, Alhaji A.B. A. Fuseini, has appealed to Fan Milk Limited to help create jobs to support the government’s quest to reduce unemployment in the country.
He said the successes chalked up by Fan Milk Limited should reflect in the lives of people living in the communities in which they operate.
Alhaji Fuseini made these remarks when a delegation from Fan Milk Limited and the Ghana National Scholarship Beneficiaries Association (GNASBA) paid a courtesy call on him at the start of a working visit to the region.
He said the visit, which was used to intensify the environmental sanitation education campaign with the chiefs and people as well as schools and colleges in Tamale, Yendi on Tatale was appropriate and timely since it would reinforce the government’s drive at ensuring a clean environment.
He used the occasion to appeal to corporate bodies to support metropolitan, municipal and district assemblies to sustain the national sanitation drive to help ensure environmental purity.
The Sales and Marketing Manager of Fan Milk Limited, Mr. Kwasi Attuah, commended the government for instituting the National Sanitation Programme which had come to help widen the scope of cleanliness in Ghana.
He said Fan Milk Limited and the GNASBA Schools Environmental Sanitation education activities had been organised for the past 22 years during which selected communities, schools and colleges had been engaged in general cleanup exercises and tree planting.
He announced that 340 litter bins would be distributed to the Ghana Police Service, schools and traditional councils in Tamale, Yendi and Tatale.
Mr. Attuah asked Ghanaians to join the national sanitation exercise since “cleanliness is next to Godliness”. Among the officials who called on the deputy minister was the chairman of GNASBA, Baffour Akwasi Oppong.
