Invigilator Forces WASSCE Candidate To Defecate In Exam Hall

A few days ago, peacefmonline.com reported of three girls who were prevented from writing their Christian Religious Studies (CRS) paper in the ongoing West African Senior Secondary Certificate Examination (WASCCE) due to bushy hair.

Even though the Director-General of the Ghana Education Service has directed St. Johns Grammer School to register the three in the private candidate exams, a similar case is reported to have occurred at Mpasatia Senior High School in the Ashanti Region on Friday.

According to PEACE FM's correspondent, Sampson K. Nyamekye, the student (name withheld) after the day’s paper had commenced, asked permission from the invigilator to respond to nature’s call but he was turned away.

The student who was reportedly having stomach upset came back and told the invigilator who also happens to be a teacher in the school of the pain he is going through but the invigilator refused, compelling the student to ease on himself in the exam hall.

After this uncomfortable incident, the final-year student was asked to collect the feaces from the floor before he would be allowed to continue writing his paper.

The Father of the student (name withheld) spoke bitterly to PEACE FM news, that he cannot imagine a ‘human being’ can be that wicked.

According to him, his son cannot speak nor mingle again because of the shame and humiliation he faced in the school and infront of his mates.

This report subsequently angered some of the residents as they took to the streets ready to beat up the invigilator involved.

“We don’t want to see him again in this town; he should go or else we will vent our anger on him,” one of them said.

However, the police led by the DCE for the Atwima Mponua District, Mrs Theresa Adomako Tawiah intervened and calmed the angry residents down.
