The former Ghana midfielder says returning to play in the domestic league was not an attempt to obtain an invitation to the Black Stars. Former Ghana international Godwin Attram has revealed that he is not eyeing a return to the Black Stars by rejoining the Ghana Premier League. The 34-year-old, who signed for his boyhood club Accra Great Olympics early in the season after spending 17 years abroad, has been outstanding in the ongoing campaign, leading to suggestions that he is aiming for a spot in the national team. �It would be easy for me to play in the Black Stars but I didn�t join the local league specifically to earn a call up to the national team,� he told Joy FM. �I came back to show Ghanaians that experienced players can play in the league because the top flight has gone down the drain and people are always watching western football and no longer concentrating on our league. �Therefore, myself, Richard Kingston and Dan Quaye came back to make the league exciting,� he said. However, the former PSV Eindhoven midfielder admitted he wouldn�t hesitate if handed an invitation to join the Black Stars. �Ghana is my motherland and if what I�m doing already in the domestic league is being appreciated by fans and the media, who believe I can do the same with the national team, then I'm ready. If I'm given a call up I'd grab it,� he said. Attram began his career at Great Olympics in 1996 before moving to PSV Eindhoven two years later. He was a member of Ghana squad at the 2006 Africa Cup of Nations in Egypt.
