NDC Cant Win The Akwatia Re-Run

The National Chairman of the NPP, Mr. Mac Manu has said it will require nothing short of a miracle for the NDC to win the Akwatia parliamentary seat, following the almost 3000 votes lead by his Partys candidate , Dr. Kofi Asare against the NDC candidate, Mr. Baba Jamal. Mr. Mac Manu was speaking in reaction to a Supreme Court ruling that six polls in the Akwatia constituency, whose results ended in dispute should be re-run, after petitions were filed by the NDC candidate and two other independent candidates Mr. Samuel Abrokwa and Basil Ahiabe. Ballots of the six polling stations to be re-run were cancelled amid claims of ballot tempering by some machomen suspected to be acting on behalf of one of the candidates. According to the national chairman, some of the constituencies whose votes have been accepted by the electoral commission (EC) and the court put his Party in the lead with about 3000 vote difference ahead of the NDC candidate, Baba Jamal. Our court reporter, Obeng Manu says, the EC is yet to fix a date for the re-run.
