ECG Defaulters To Appear In Court

Jomoro District Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) Limited in Western Region is instituting legal action to recover all its outstanding electricity bills from defaulters.

     About 48 customers in the area owe the company GH₵ 60,000 in Electricity bills.

     Alhaji Adamu Y.Usumanu, the District Manager, made this known to the Ghana News Agency at Half-Assini in the Western Region on Monday.

     He said the first batch of 10 defaulters involving more than GH₵ 25,000 have been summoned at the Half-Assini Magistrate Court.

      Alhaji Usumanu said they are: Mr Ansah Morchiah, Mrs Betty M. Owusu, Edward Owusu Mensah, all of Elubo, Mr Anthony Ndede Sowodademu, and Samuel Blay, Tikobo Number Two.

     He said the rest are: Mr Justice Boadi Twenen, Michael Dogbe, New Kabenla-Suazo, Mr Ndede Benle, Mpataba, Madam Nyameke Bile and Eunice Ndefo both of Tikobo Number One.


    The District ECG Manager said the Company needs money to provide quality and reliable services to customers in the area hence the action.

     He appealed to the defaulters to endeavour to settle debts to enable the Company fulfil its mandate to its customers in the area.

     Alhaji Adams said the District has achieved 82 per cent of electricity coverage, adding that the remaining percentage including Tweakor Numbers One & Two and Navrango would be connected by next year if all things go well.
