Driver Defiles 2 Pupils �Infects One With STD

Selorm Asase, a driver, allegedly lured two girls, aged eight and 10, who were on their way home from school, into a friend’s room and forcibly had sex with them in turns, infecting one with disease, the Sogakope Circuit Court, has heard.

The court, presided over by Mr. Emmanuel Ayesu Essampong, was further told that after the act, Asase, 21, gave each of the girls 40 pesewas and warned them not to disclose the ordeal to anyone, or he would kill them.

When he made his first appearance before the court on March 26, this year, Asare pleaded not guilty to the charge of defilement and was remanded into prison custody.

He has subsequently made three appearances in court and was denied bail on each occasion.

Inspector Jacob Awiagah, prosecuting, said the two girls were Class Two pupils of Sogakope primary school and that the accused live in the same vicinity with the younger girl.

The prosecution said at about 2 pm on March 13, the two children were returning home after school, when the accused accosted them and sent them to buy him “pure water.”

When they returned with the water he led them into a friend’s room and forcibly had sex with them “one after the other, the court was told.

A week later, the prosecution said that the elder girl’s father realized that his daughter could not walk properly, and when questioned, she narrated their ordeal.

A report was made to the police, and Asare who initially gave his name as Kwaku Manu, was arrested.

The victims were later issued with forms for medical examination at the hospital, and the medical report revealed that they had been defiled and that the younger one had been infected with gonorrhea.
