Tottenham, Liverpool Pull Out Of Battle To Sign Andre Ayew

Tottenham and Liverpool have pulled out of the race to sign Marseille attacker Andre Ayew for free this summer, according to LEquipe. The Ghana international is out of contract in June and has reportedly already received up to ten pre-contract offers for the summer from clubs outside of France. West Ham, Swansea, Newcastle and Everton from England are reportedly interested with clubs from around Europe such as Wolfsburg, Roma, Napoli and Dortmund also keen. QPR saw a bid rejected for the 25-year-old in January and should they stay up, could well make another move. Ayew is certain to leave Marseille as contract talks never lead to a concrete offer and Roma are reportedly the favourites after already speaking to the player, something they are allowed to do as he is out of contract. Tottenham have been long-term admirers of the attacking midfielder, who can also play out wide, but the signing of Dele Alli has reportedly ended their interest. Liverpool were also expected to make their moves but have bigger and better options in their sights as they set about breaking back into the top four next season. Ayew could have more than ten contract offers to mull over, but Champions League football with the likes of Roma, Napoli and Wolfsburg could give them the edge over West Ham and QPR.
