A 45-year old man from Kasapin in the Asunafo North Municipality in the Brong-Ahafo Region, Kennedy Janpio, has hanged himself at a police inspector’s bungalow at Mim, also in the Brong Ahafo Region.

The Mim police told The Chronicle that the deceased was brought from his hometown to stay with his brother, Joseph Janpio, who lives at Mim, but works at Kasapin.  The man left his late brother for work in the morning, only to return to find him (deceased) hanging in their kitchen dead.

According to Inspector Joseph Janpio, his late brother, who is a carpenter by profession, was very hard working person and exports most of his products to neighbouring Burkina Faso and parts of northern Ghana.  According to him, whilst returning from one of his trips, the deceased was attacked by armed robbers, who beat him almost to the point of death.

This, he continued, affected his brain and sight. “I brought him to my house so that when I get money I could send him for treatment, and the unfortunate has happened.”  The mortal remains of Kennedy Janpio has been deposited in the Goaso Municipal Hospital morgue awaiting autopsy.  Meanwhile, an investigation has been started by the Goaso Divisional Police to know the actual cause of the death.
