Chocho Industries Lay Off More Workers

Chief Executive Officer of Chocho Industries Limited, Alhaji Mustapha Oti Boateng has revealed plans to lay off more workers if the erratic power supply persists.

Management of the industries also plans closing down the company by the end of the year if the current energy crisis persists.

He stated that the company’s operations cost increased as a result of the crisis.

Alhaji Chocho revealed that his industry spends GH₵1, 000 daily on fuel because of the intense load shedding and as a result has increased its cost of production.

He noted that though he has laid off about 15 workers, he intends to sack more due to the worsening energy situation popularly known as dumsor.

About 40% of workers have already been laid off in order to cut down on costs.

Alhaji Oti Boateng, however, called on government to as a matter of urgency solve the power crisis.
