Prez Mahama Is A Serial Liar...He Can't Even Recall His Own Name Sir John

Former General Secretary of the opposition New Patriotic Party [NPP], Kwadwo Owusu Afriyie, has described President John Dramni Mahama as a serial liar.

According to him, the president simply promises to please Ghanaians so as to win more votes in the coming elections.

He explained that, President Mahama’s assurance that power barges will be expected in the country from Turkey in April to provide a short-term solution to the current power deficit was nothing but a lie.

Expectations had peaked after indications were given by the government that the "emergency barges" would be ready by April.

But it appears that Ghana may have to think of some other means of dealing with the ongoing power crisis in the short-term and not rely on the power ships under construction in Turkey.

Sir John, as affectionately called in politics, believes the president and his administration are “jokers” for such promise after calling on the president to render an apology to Ghanaians.

They told us the power barges will be in the country this April. Why do they keep lying to us? President Mahama must apologize to Ghanaians for the lies. This is not his first time of lying.

"...President Mahama has been a liar for years...he cannot even remember his own name. This is the kind of president we have,” he said on OKAY FM's "Ade Akye Abia" morning show.

Dumsor Manufactured By NDC?

Dumsor or more appropriately Dum Sɔ is a popular Ghanaian term used to describe persistent electric power outages. The term is coined from two separate words from the Twi dialect of the Akan language dum to with [to turn off or quench] and sɔ [to turn on or to make light].

The term was adopted because of the frequent blackouts due to insufficient power supply or load shedding exercise carried out daily by the Ghana Grid Company and Electricity Company of Ghana.

However, the situation has been worse under the NDC Mahama-led administration and been criticized by many.

The former General Secretary of the NPP opined that, though the NPP faced similar situations, it was solved within a year.

The NPP solved the same situation in just a year. Three years and counting, the NDC is still facing the problem. We [NPP] never handed over power in 2009 to the NDC with Dumsor. Dumsor is made and manufactured under the NDC and it is worse under Mahama’s administration,” he noted.
