Mahama Ayariga Denies Buying Shares In Medeama SC

Former Youth and Sports Minister, Mahama Ayariga has denied reports that he is negotiating the purchase of part of Ghana Premier League Club, Medeama SC with President Moses Armah. According to the publication by ghanasportsonline.com, Mahama Ayariga is understood not to want complete ownership of the Tarkwa-based side, but he does have his eye on at least a 50 percent stake - an amount which would make him the club's majority shareholder, together with Moses Parker. ghanasportsonline.com gathered that the club's hierarchy have discussed selling stakes to an INVESTOR with Moses Armah ready to offer up to 50% to prospective buyers and it has been revealed that former Youth and Sports Minister Mahama Ayariga has been linked with a takeover of the club after deal brokers engaged in talks with the Bawku Central Member of Parliament. Below is the full Statement he posted on his Facebook Wall My attention has been drawn to a news story on ghanasportsonline.com with a headline "ex sports Minister Mahama Ayariga set to buy shares in Medeama FC". I categorically deny the story, it comes from the imagination of a journalist whose clear intentions of writing this story I cannot relate to or understand. I have not met anyone from in or outside Medeama FC to discuss the purchase of shares in the club. I do not have any intentions of buying or owning a football club. I wonder why the journalist did not get in touch with me to check the veracity of the story before he published. We have to continually strive to abide by the ethics of good journalism, so that the practice can engender trust and respect from readers and audience.
