NPP Needs Kufuor To Bring Sanity Mornah

General Secretary of People's National Convention (PNC), Bernard Mornah has called on former President J. A. Kufuor to assert his authority in order "to bring sanity" to the New Patriotic Party (NPP).

The NPP appears to be reeling from one PR disaster to the other, the latest being fallouts from an Emergency Steering Committee on Monday called by First Vice-chairman Freddy Blay, in the absence of the Chairman and General Secretary.

The meeting and the need for it or otherwise, has since generated heated debate from factions within the party. The problem according to some party leaders, when not checked, can spell doom for the party.

Perhaps the only person who can calm the raging storm in Ghana's largest opposition party is former President John Agyekum Kufuor, Bernard Mornah argued on Adom FM’s Dwaso Nsem morning show Thursday, who is the most successful leader of the Danquah-Busia-Dombo tradition. The party is in a ‘confused and need a steady hand because the "other leaders’ authority has been undermined."

“The flagbearer is the leader of the party, but I’m very much surprised when nothing is done to solve the wrangling in the party. I think Nana Akufo-Addo has a lot of work to do if they refuse to call on President Kufuor to intervene”.
