President Mills Turns 65

The President, J.E.A Mills whose birthday falls today, 21st July 2009, observed the occasion modestly by donating items to the needy to put smiles on their faces. The President who turned 65 said at an interactive forum with the presidential press corps at the Castle that he does not regard his birthday as special, due to that the he does not usually celebrate his birthdays with fanfare. He said birthdays are supposed to be days for assessing ones achievements and failures and try to make amends. The President said he does not, and never thought that at 65 he will be a President and therefore he expressed gratitude to God who granted him the opportunity to serve at this time. During question time when the Presidential Press Corps were offered the chance to ask President Mills questions, he told the journalists his government is committed to applying the resources of the nation to the benefit all Ghanaians.
