NDC Will Not Sabotage #DumsorMustStop Vigil - Koku Anyidoho

Deputy General Secretary of the governing National Democratic Congress (NDC), Koku Anyidoho has stated emphatically that his party will not in any way disrupt the organization of the upcoming “Dumsor Vigil” by some Ghanaian celebrities.

According to him, information circulating that the NDC by all means want the "Dumsor vigil" to be cancelled is untrue.

“We [NDC] will not sabotage #DumsorMustStop vigil. NDC have no problem with the vigil. The celebrities have every right to organize what they have planned to do if only they are given the green light by the police and Ga traditional rulers,” he said on OKAY FM’s "Ade Akye Abia" programme.

Organisers of the May 16 "Dumsor vigil" are facing some challenges in organizing the night event which many believe the NDC is behind that.

However, due to the Ga Traditional Council's ban on noise making and venue problems, the vigil is said to be in limbo.

But organizers say the event will come off despite Total Ghana’s (owners of ‘On-The-Run) refusal to allow them converge at its premises.

The #DumsorMustStop campaign, championed by Yvonne Nelson and other celebrities including Sarkodie is to put pressure on Government to solve the erratic supply of electricity which has lingered on for close to three years.
