Volta NAGRAT Want Killers Of Member Traced Swiftly

The Volta Regional branch of the National Association of Graduate Teachers (NAGRAT), is asking all state investigative bodies to help quickly find the killers of Jude Aboagye, whose mutilated body was found some two months after he went missing.

A statement dated May 11 and signed by Kenneth Adevu, Regional Secretary, said until his death, Aboagye, an Economics Tutor at Tanyigbe Senior High School, in the Ho Municipal Area, was a NAGRAT member.

The statement said Aboagye, an indigene of Kpando had gone to a funeral at Kpando-Gadza on February 6, and never returned home.

“After many days of search his mutilated and decomposed body was found at the outskirts of Kpando-Agudzi on May 4, and had since been interred,” it stated.

The statement said NAGRAT had cause to believe that, “our late comrade was murdered in cold blood for ritual purposes, because some of his vital body parts were reported missing when the body was eventually found”.

“We unreservedly condemn this brutal barbaric and gruesome act visited on our colleague teacher and call on all teacher unions and well meaning individuals and the general public to equally condemn this dastardly act,” it stated, adding “this evil act has the potential to deter teachers from serving in the Kpando Traditional Area”.

The statement asked the traditional authorities to co-operate with the state investigative bodies to apprehend the perpetrators and bring them to book.

It said smoking out the “murderers and bringing them to justice would allay the fears of all other people in the Kpando area who might be feeling a sense of insecurity around them”.
