Former Accra Hearts of Oak midfielder Charles Taylor has paid tribute to the late Jones Attuquayefio.
Jones, 70, passed on yesterday at the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital after a long battle with throat cancer.
The sudden departure of the legendary coach has left many football enthusiasts in a sad mood.
The former Hearts of Oak tactician was one of the celebrated and affable football coaches in the country having led the Phobians to continental glory after guiding them to lift the CAF Champions League in 2000.
Taylor, who was once coached by Attuquayefio has mourned the deceased.
“He was such a kind man and I will say he made me who I am today he,” told Accra-based Peace Fm.
“He gave me lots of advice and always corrected me whenever I go wrong. His unfortunate death left me in a gloomy mood,” he added.
Attuquayefio drafted Charles Taylor into the Black Starlets team that won bronze at the 1999 FIFA U17 World Cup in New Zealand.
