Dumsor No Longer About Prayers

The International Bishops/pastors intercessors Network have declared that the current dumsor in the country is no longer about prayers.

In a correspondence addressed to the Catholics' Bishops Conference and the Christian Council of Ghana, the network supported the two bodies on their recent call on government to address the economic challenges and energy crisis confronting the country.

The correspondence, authored by the Presiding Bishop, Rev Edmund Aryee, and copied to the Ghana Pentecostal Council and the National Association of Charismatic Churches, the network stated that” as a leadership network, we support the recent complaints and concerns of both the Christian Council of Ghana and the Catholics’ Bishops Conference concerning the current economic crisis Ghanaians are going through especially this current power crisis which is nearing four years.”
Continuing, it said that “we believe in prayers but wish to inform all the churches that the solution for this strange Dumsor is no more about prayers and fasting. The churches of the body of Christ are also made up of taxpayers, educated people, scholars, teacher, professors, doctors, lawyers, journalists and all levels of professionals.”

Prayers have already been said but what is left now is to watch, it said, adding that there are no signs that the government is about to solve the problems.

“Waiting till the end of the year before the problem is fixed means that the membership of the churches will continue being in darkness and lacking healthcare and others.

“Accordingly, we have advised ourselves and our members to keep away from anything unconstitutional, wait for 2016 and change this government during the elections. A change in government will serve as a strong warning to all political leaders so they will stop lying to Ghanaians and taking us for granted,” the network said.
