President of the Ghana Football Association Kwasi Nyantakyi has rejected reports that he has boycotted matches of Accra Hearts of Oak, claiming he would return to watch the Phobians after police investigations into the matter.

Police in Accra have started investigations into the incident after some fans attempted to attack the GFA capo following their 1-0 defeat to Djoliba in the reverse fixture of the CAF Confederation Cup last Sunday.

And contrary to earlier reports that Nyantakyi has boycotted Hearts of Oak matches at the Accra Sports stadium, the legal practitioner has stated that he will return to the stadium to watch the Phobians only after investigations are concluded.

“There is a case before the Police, I was nearly assaulted at the stadium and I want the matter to be resolved or fully investigated before I decide to go to the stadium...as it stands it is a big risk to go to the stadium,” the CAF executive member told Starr FM.

Angry fans of Hearts of Oak vented their frustration on the Ghanaian FA leader after seeing their team put up a sub-standard performance against the Malian side in front of their home fans.

They claimed the refusal to grant the club’s request for a Premier League postponement against Ashantigold fatigued their players.
