Trader Arrested For Robbery

A trader who allegedly stole electrical appliances and cash totalling GH¢20,000 from a real estate agent, is in the custody of the police.

Daniel Kwame Duncan, 25, and two others on the run, allegedly broke into the agent’s house and stole the items while she was asleep.

The Assistant Superintendent of Police Effia Tenge, Head of Public Relations of the Accra Regional Police Command, told The Ghanaian Times in Accra on Tuesday, that the complainant, Priscilla Maga, woke up from her sleep at about 3am on April 21, and saw three young men escaping through the main door of her house at Awudome Estates in Accra.

A search of her room revealed that one Nexus 6 mobile phone valued at GH¢2,000, a 42-inch flatscreen television set, one DVD player, three mobile phones, one Dell Laptop computer together with other valuables and GH¢4,800 cash, were stolen.

ASP Tenge said the woman later lodged a complaint with the police and Duncan was arrested at Tuobodom, near Odawna in Accra, by the police with the help of a tracking device.

She said the police were making efforts to arrest the other accomplices.
