Organizers of dumsor vigil have been subjected to a barrage of attacks by government communicators who claim they are championing the cause of the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP) to make the Mahama-led administration unpopular.

Lead campaigner, Yvonne Nelson who begun the crusade on social media with #dumsormuststop and his friends including actress, Lydia Forson has been branded prostitutes for fighting for their rights.

The latest to join the bandwagon of government communicators questioning the sincerity of the artistes in the campaign to get government to solve the erratic power supply is Former Member of Parliament for Adentan constituency, Kojo Adu-Asare.

Speaking on Asempa FM Friday, he insisted that the celebrities are not being fair to President Mahama.

He noted that the celebrities have turned a blind eye and a deaf eye to all the measures being put in place by government to get the problems resolved.

Adu Asare is convinced the celebrities lacing their boots to embark on the dumsor vigil on Saturday, May 16, 2015 “want to use it to re-launch their careers which have taken a nosedive”.

Rather, the presidential staffer urged the celebrities to concentrate on the crippling movie industry in the country and find ways to resuscitate it rather than scheming to make the government unpopular.

He said the likes of Yvonne Nelson, Lydia Forson and the actors are taking advantage of the power crisis to make their fans know they are still in the industry.

Adu-Asare challenged the celebrities to show their political colours if they are ready to do active politics.
