There're Elements In The NPP That Are Satisfied With Being In Opposition Pratt

Managing Editor of the Insight newspaper, Kwesi Pratt Jnr says occurrences in the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP) suggests that “we should not be voting” for them in 2016.

“Over the last couple of weeks I have been watching the NPP carefully and I am fully convinced that there are elements in that party that are satisfied with being in opposition…If this is how our politics is going then we should be deeply worried. I am more than convinced that there are so many people in the NPP who are comfortable in opposition and do not want to leave” he said.

Kwesi Pratt was speaking to the internal wrangling in the NPP which started after a steering committee meeting was held in the absence of the party’s National Chairman, Paul Afoko and the General Secretary, Kwabena Agyepong.

To add salts to injury, Dr Arthur Kennedy, a former flagbearer aspirant also accused the current flagbearer of the NPP, Nana Akufo Addo of fueling attempts to remove Paul Afoko and Kwabena Agyepong from their position at all cost.
The tension keeps rising as missiles are thrown at Kwabena Agyepong and Arthur Kennedy by some members of the party.

Contributing to a panel discussion on Radio Gold’s Alhaji and Alhaji, Kwesi Pratt added: “There are elements in that party that don’t want to get anywhere near government, because their conduct and utterances are such as to indicate to the people of Ghana that they should not be voting for that party. The question is will the people of Ghana be voting for any political party whose flagbearer has been described by his own party leaders as intolerant?”
