Eschew Arrogance Mahama Tells New Appointees

President John Mahama has urged the newly sworn in ministers and their deputies not to be arrogant towards the people they serve.

Speaking at a swearing-in ceremony for new ministers at the Flagstaff House Monday, President Mahama urged the appointees to give off their best to improve the living conditions of Ghanaians.

‘’The positions we are given are not our property and we serve at the pleasure of the people of Ghana''

''Just as you have been appointed today, tomorrow could be removed or shifted elsewhere and when that happens you should remember that the office belongs to the people of Ghana and not us;

''Let me on this occasion remind you that humility and modesty are important hallmark of our social democratic governance. Too many people have complained of arrogance in some of our appointees and we need to remember we serve at the pleasure of our people.’’  He said.

Among the ministers inducted today are Alex Segbefia who is heading for the Health Ministry, Peter Anarfi-Mensah who is the new Ashanti regional minister and three deputy ministers.
