Dont Politicize Adams Mahamas Death Kwesi Aning

Security Analyst, Dr. Kwesi Aning, has cautioned Ghanaians not to politicize the tragic death of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) Upper East Regional Chairman, Adams Mahama.

For Dr. Aning, the matter should be treated as a purely criminal one, because politicizing the motives of the killers will aggravate the situation.

“It is very important that we move our conversations around this issue away from politics and to concentrate on the criminal side… it is important that we don’t politicize this murder…it is a criminal act and we need to look at that because if we don’t deal with this case as quickly as possible then we may have some ramifications that may be unpleasant…,” Kwesi Aning explained.

“There may be political difficulties but somebody who is not related to that political difficulty may exploit that difficult situation for their own other end,” he added.

The party’s Chairman died from his injuries from an acid attack on Thursday morning at the Bolgatanga Regional hospital.

Two unidentified persons poured acid on him on Wednesday evening and escaped. One of the suspects who was earlier arrested has been released.

Dr. Aning called on party officials to be patient while investigations into incident continue.
