Ghana Meets Naija Set To Rock Accra Tomorrow

On Saturday, Accra will come to a standstill when the biggest names in the music industry from Ghana and her West African neighbour, Nigeria, converge at the Accra International Conference Centre for the fifth edition of the Ghana Meets Naija concert.

This year’s edition  which is under sponsorship from telecommunications, giant Tigo, has been renamed Tigo Ghana Meets Naija concert and has been dubbed, Unleashing Unlimited Music. 

Patrons are expected to witness amazing performances from Stonebwoy, Shatta Wale and Sarkodie, all of whom have been winners of the prestigious of Artiste of the Year award at the Ghana Music Awards. 

For his part, Stonebwoy who is the current Artiste of the Year and a nominee for the award of the Best International Act, Africa at the 2015 BET Awards would be making his first appearance at the Tigo Ghana Meets Naija concert. 

Stonebwoy has proven on countless platforms that he has what it takes to get audiences in the groove. His collection of dancehall songs such as Baafira, Bhim Nation, Pull Up, Give It To Them are all crowd favourites and would definitely get the crowd on their feet on the night. 

Another heavyweight in the Ghanaian camp is Sarkodie, who is no stranger to the Ghana Meets Naija stage. His is without doubt one of the biggest artistes in Ghanaian showbiz circles currently and his inclusion on the bill comes as no surprise. 

Sarkodie emerged as the Best International Act, Africa, in 2012 and has been nominated for the same award this year. Sarkodie’s array of hits such as Original, Azonto, Adonai, Me Gye Wo Girl coupled with his exceptional stagecraft is sure to be one of the highlights on the night. 

The third artiste representing Ghana is dancehall artiste, Shatta Wale. The gifted performer and crowd-puller has hits such as Dancehall King, Everybody like My Thing, Whine Ya Waist in his repertoire.

Nigeria is expected to feature an equally strong contingent of artistes namely, the seven-member crew of Mavin Records, founded by award winning record producer, Don Jazzy. 

Dubbed the 7-Man Army, the group consists of Don Jazzy himself, Reekado Banks, Dr SID, Korede Bello, Di'Ja, D' Prince and Tiwa Savage.

The group has had multiple of hit songs such as Looku Looku, Dorobucci, Adaobi all of which have captured the hearts of music lovers in both Ghana and Nigeria and are poised to give the Ghanaian contingent a run of their money.
