The Terrible Political Dream I Had Last Night

I woke up three times at night before this new day. I was sweating profusely especially seeing the same dream for the third time.

I found myself in a wilderness observing a group of people who lived happily & peacefully. They looked cheerful, courteous & content then, but they’re hungry for more progress so they they’re discontent or displeased with what they had and sought more contentment for themselves in the People’s Power Structure.

In the dream, I saw Family Politics perfectly interacting harmoniously with Politics of Agriculture, Politics of Health, Politics of Relationships, Responsibility and Respect. From where I was sitting in my Village Republic Square, I could see Politics of Education, Politics of Class, Politics of Interest Aggregation, Politics of Creed, Leadership Politics talking and working with National Policies for Progress.

However on the flip side, I saw Politics of Mischief fanning the flames of Politics of Deceit and Intellectual Fallacies and Politics of Propaganda and Spin to the summit. And conniving with Politics of Selfishness, Politics of Greed, Politics of Who you know, the Big man and Small Boys and Girls Politics, they exploit the ethos of Politics of Quality Governance, Politics of Ethics, Politics of Ethnicity and Politics of Religion all in the name of accessing the ultimate haven of Politics of Powers.

At this stage it is sad to report that Politics of Good Stewardship clashed with Politics of Values, Politics of Responsibility and Politics of Truth, thus making nonsense of the essence of Politics of Equity, Politics of Dignity and Politics of Respect, which undermines Politics of Authentic Progress.

I got angry at what I saw in the dream and before I could act or do anything, Politics of Insults visited the scene. I sensed it could get worse if nothing was done but before I could say jack, Politics of Intolerance with its cousins Politics of Indiscipline, Politics of Threats, Politics of Vandalism and Vitriolic Attacks, showing up at the dawn of a so called Politics of Enlightenment.

Then a whirlwind blew and mixed all these Politics of Ideologies, Politics of Promises and Partisanship Politics or Politics of Self importance, Politics of Indifference, Politics of Insanity and Corruption, Politics of Strikes and Protest or Demonstration with Politics of Cynicism, all boiling in an intemperate big pot of a so called democracy.

I least expected that ugly accident yesterday dawn but I could smell it from afar. YES! I saw Politics of Death visiting and I wept for our democracy. Must we kill or maim ourselves in the name of Politics?
I pray to the Lord to help us all see the dangers in this my dream and direct us to do the things we’ve to do to return to Authentic POLITICS OF PROGRESS. So help us God may God bless you and our homeland Ghana.

This is what my bosom friend at both St. Johns Grammar and GIJ, Maxwell Kwesi Yirenkyi Boateng sent to me on whatsapp and I thought it wise to share it with all Ghanaians.
