NPP Infighting: Afoko Supporters Clash With Invincible Forces @ Party HQ

It seems the internal strife in the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP) is not going to end anytime soon after a fresh attack launched at the party’s headquarters, Thursday afternoon.

Some persons believed to be cohorts of embattled NPP National Chairman, Paul Afoko have sustained various bodily injuries after clashing with private security group nicknamed the “Invincible forces” stationed at the party’s head office days after flagbearer, Nana Addo had visited the place to be brief on security matters.

According to Citi FM’s reporter, Franklin Badu Junior, Paul Afoko's supporters numbering about 20 stormed the party’s headquarters around midday to protest attempts by party leadership to oust the national chairman and his general secretary.

"...They were saying chanting and singing songs to the effect that chairman Afoko should remain the chairman of the party," he narrated.

The Invincible Forces [IF] security group guarding the party’s headquarters who were armed with clubs and horse whips chased them out.

“Two persons got injured,” he recounted.

He further stated that about 15 armed policemen are at the scene to prevent further clashes and maintain peace.
