Invisible Forces Leave NPP Headquarters

The security group guarding the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) headquarters have heeded the call by the presidential candidate of the party to grant the party’s National Chairman, Paul Afoko and General Secretary, Kwabena Agyepong to the offices.

The group known as “Invisible Forces” had earlier prevented Paul Afoko and Kwabena Agyepong from entering the party’s premises following the death of Upper East Regional Chairman of the party, Adams Mahama.

The Invisible Forces on Thursday chased out some supporters of Paul Afoko who were there to protest against attempts to remove the National Chairman.

Flagbearer of NPP, Nana Akufo-Addo on Friday intervened and pleaded with the Invisible Forces to grant Paul Afoko and Kwabena Agyepong access to their premises.

Nana Addo explained that though the party is still mourning the late Adams Mahama, it is imperative that things are normalized adding that “this means, for instance, that the officers of the party, the National Chairman and the General Secretary in particular, must have access to their offices at party headquarters and not be hindered in any way from being able to conduct their duties.”

Vice Chairman of the group, Dennis Ahmed during a press conference held on Friday, welcomed the appeal.

“We are happy about what the flagbearer came here to do and we will take it and work with it. All what we want is peace,” he said.

Dennis Ahmed added that “as of today, all is okay now, everybody can come to the office and have his normal work. We don’t have problem with anybody. We are with them, what matters is that security of the party is paramount.”
