Nurture the youth into Leadership Roles

The Ga Presbytery Chairperson, Rev. Dr G.N.N. Odonkor, has charged the Young Adults Fellowship (YAF) of the Presbyterian Church of Ghana to consciously make efforts to nurture people into leadership of the church and the country, to secure a solid future for both the church and the country.

According to Rev. Odonkor, the youth are the future of the church and the country and without good preparation and mentoring, they may not fully live up to their expected roles as the leaders in the future.

He made these remarks at the eighth Annual Delegates’ Congress of the Ga Presbytery YAF held at the Zimmermann Memorial Congregation of the Presbyterian Church of Ghana on the theme, “Be Filled with the Holy Spirit: Anointed for Service”.

Rev. Dr Odonkor reminded the YAF that they were an important group in the church because their members formed the main resources and talents with more active experiences in church business and from the field of work.

“Many of your members are today’s leaders of businesses and at the same time presbyters or elders of the church. This means the fellowship is well poised and very much positioned to influence the church, directing the future of our country,” Rev. Odonkor said.

He commended the YAF for taking it upon themselves to construct a prayer pavilion at Danfa for the church and challenged members to make good use of the pavilion to always remain connected to God through prayer. The Ga Presbytery Chairperson also admonished delegates to take security issues seriously.

In a welcome message, the host Minister, Rev. E. N. Ollenu, encouraged delegates to accept and see criticisms as positive feedbacks for the growth of the YAF and the church as a whole.
