* There is another storm en route...

*The flooding in Acc has brought things to a standstill. Yes, the rainfall has been heavy. However, the poor waste management, blocked drains, houses built in water (town planning?) ways have all contributed to the problem.

Given the magnitude of the problem, our wonderful Armed Forces will likely have to come to the rescue. After all, the Ghanaian Armed forces have been renowned for their record of excellence not just in conflict but in times of peace.

Perhaps this is a huge sign for us to start addressing these issues of urbanisation with haste.

Next thing is disease.... What measures are being put in place for the cholera outbreak that often follows these floods? Have our poly clinics and other health centres been stocked in anticipation? Are the hospitals ready? Is the municipal authority ensuring that we have enough potable water for those who will have no access to clean water?

Can we ban plastics or ensure that all companies that produce plastics also collect and recycle? Congo Brazza banned plastics and what a difference it makes to the waste disposal problem! The appointed and elected representatives must now justify their positions and act.
