Chairman �Wontumi� Pledges GHC100,000 Seed Capital For Adams Mahama Foundation

A foundation in memory of the late former Upper East Regional Chairman for the New Patriotic Party would soon be set to ensure his legacy lives on.

To ensure this comes to pass, the Ashanti Regional Chairman for the NPP, Mr. Bernard Antwi- Boasiako, has pledged to help grow the foundation with a seed capital f GHC 100,000.

In an interview with Peacefmonline.com after we got wind of his plan, Mr. Bernard Antwi-Boasiako, popularly known as Chairman ‘Wontumi’ disclosed to us that the official date for the launch of the Adams Mahama Foundation would be announced after the final funeral rites for the deceased has been performed.

He continued that as a member of the party and a friend of the late NPP executive, he would want to set up the foundation to satisfy the needs of the children and families he left behind.

He called on party members, banks and other corporate organization to donate their widow’s mite towards the foundation.   

On Sunday June 7, 2015, the final funeral rites (Adua) would be performed for the Adams Mahama at Bolgatanga. He died last month after being drenched with acid by some assailants.

The Adua is a ceremony where the Holy Quran is recited for the departed soul by a Chief Imam and other Muslim clergy.
