NPP Primaries: Weija MP To Challenge Results

The Member of Parliament (MP) for Weija/Gbawe, Rosemond Comfort Abrah says she will challenge the results of the party’s parliamentary primaries in the area after losing to the former NPP national Deputy Women’s Organizer Tina Mensah.

She alleges the voter’s register was tampered with, in favour of her opponent.

Rosemond Comfort Abrah lost her seat to Tina Mensah who polled 309 votes as against her 175 votes.

Prior to the declaration of results, the incumbent MP pulled out another voter’s register insisting that should have been used for the election.

According to her, the results were not a true reflection of the process.

“They have stolen it, they used a different album. Thieves, thieves…,” she said in an interview on Citi FM.

“I’m not accepting the results, Tina Mensah hasn’t won. They have used a different album for the voting,”

When asked whether she would challenge the result, she responded in the affirmative saying, “surely, I will.”

But the newly elected Tina Mensah was elated.

She also dismissed the allegations by the incumbent MP saying “I don’t know what she is talking about. Because this is the same album that was used during the 18th October election for Nana Akufo-Addo so I don’t know what she is talking about.”
