Adequate Security Ahead Of Elections

The Eastern Regional Chairman of NPP, Yaw Amoabeng Gyekye has called on the Electoral Commission (EC) and the government to ensure adequate security during and after the elections in the 6-polling stations in Akwatia. The elections in the six polling stations in Akwatia with 4851 registered voters was cancelled following the snatching of ballot boxers by unknown machomen on December 8. The NPP regional chairman says the Party is ready and willing to work towards the peaceful conduct of the election but both E.C and the government have the mandate to ensure that the election is conducted peacefully. The election is slated for August 18 with all the Parties preparing towards it. Mr Amoabeng said NPP will do everything it can to ensure a peaceful election.
