'Its Too Early To Identify Cause Of Defeat'

Member of Parliament (MP) for the Mampong Constituency, Mr Francis Addai-Nimoh, has said it is too early to identify what brought about his defeat in the party’s parliamentary primaries last Saturday.

Speaking to the Daily Graphic in an interview, the former flag-bearer aspirant of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) said he had campaigned vigorously and made available adequate logistics but unfortunately lost the primaries.

He, however, described the party’s parliamentary primaries held in his constituency as transparent and, therefore, had accepted the results declared.

Mr Addai-Nimoh compared the primaries to playing the kind of football where penalty decides the winner.

He noted that as MP, he had one-and-a-half years to represent his constituency and he gave the assurance to serve his constituents to the best of his ability.

Mr Addai-Nimoh also gave the assurance that he was still a staunch member of the NPP and would be active in the 2016 campaign for the party to wrest power from the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC).

In a related development, Mr Addai-Nimoh was mobbed at his hometown, Nyinampong, when he arrived there after the primaries, as almost the entire community rushed to his residence to show solidarity.

Some of the people were seen wailing or crying whilst others congratulated him on his good fight.

The people urged him to not be daunted but to go ahead with his ambition because according to them, his future was very bright.
