NDC Organizer Poisoned

The Takoradi constituency deputy organiser of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Victor Oboye, has passed on.

Initial reports were that the deputy organiser was poisoned through a drink at a funeral last Sunday.

The allegation was that Oboye attended a funeral at the ‘Daavi Ama’ area in Takoradi in the company of some NDC colleagues and was allegedly poisoned.

Reports were that when the deputy constituency organiser got home later on that fateful day, he started complaining of stomach pains.

He was rushed to the hospital but gave up the ghost at the health facility.

Commenting on the incident, Famous Tumi, Western Regional Communications Officer of the party, confirmed the death but debunked the assertion that the deceased was poisoned.

He indicated that it was only the post-mortem that would determine what killed the constituency deputy organiser.

He explained that on that Sunday after the funeral some of the NDC executives went to visit someone at Tanokrom, a suburb of Takoradi, after which they all proceeded to the party’s office for a short meeting.

At the meeting, the deceased started complaining that he felt some pains in his stomach and was rushed to the hospital where he died later.
