Allotey Bars Former NDC MP..."I Won't Allow Any One Term MP To Be Contested" - He Vows

The Central Regional Chairman of the NDC, Bernard Allotey Jacobs has issued a strong edict that he will not allow anyone to contest a one term NDC Member of Parliament [MP] in his region when the party open nominations for primaries.

As long as I remain the chairman of the NDC in the Central Region, I will not allow any one term MP to be contested,” he vowed.

Allotey Jacobs’ remark was made when he visited Ekumfi constituency to canvas support for the incumbent MP, Abeiku Crentsil.

Discussing the issue on Neat FM’s afternoon political show, the “Educated Fisherman” as he is affectionately called in politics, however noted that, former NDC Member of Parliament for the Mfantseman East Constituency, George Kuntu Blankson who will be contesting the primaries must as well bury his ambition to return to parliament.

Over my dead body would that happen,” he vowed.

Allotey Jacobs further added that, “I don’t care if Kuntu Blankson wants to contest a one term MP or not, I have made myself clear on that”.

The ruling NDC will conduct its primaries later this year or early next year – the party is yet to schedule a permanent date for the primaries.
