James Kwabena Bomfeh, former National Youth Organizer of the Convention People's Party (CPP), says the country's leadership from the erstwhile Kufour regime to the current Mahama administration has since been deceiving Ghanaians.

According to James Kwabena Bomfeh, also called Kabila, successive governments recorded in the history of Ghana take refuge in their manifestoes but lack the ability to fulfill their promises.

To him, the Government of Ghana has refused countlessly to listen to the voices of the ruled - the Ghanaian populace - despite their public outcry.

He noted that there have been several calls on government to expunge the indemnity clauses in the 1992 constitution and also make the Attorney General independent from the Ministry of Justice but to no avail.

He further bemoaned the conduct of some Members of Parliament saying though 275 members are in the legislative House; just a handful of them participate in debates.

This, he believed, clearly shows the apathetic demeanor of the country's law makers.

“Majority of Ghanaians says the indemnity clauses in the 1992 Republican constitution; we should remove. Majority of our people says they want to elect their DCEs and MCEs. Then it comes to the office of the President and they say that no, we will not respect the majority rule.”

“How many of them actually truly participate in the debate at the end of the decisions that they arrive at?”

Kabila therefore express extreme worry over the character of the elects in the country and so questioned Ghana's democracy saying "this country has been living a deception; our motherland Ghana. We’re living a deception. We claim we’re practicing democracy. The cardinal principle in democracy [Kwame] is that majority rule; right or Wrong? The majority may be right or they may be wrong but once they’re in the majority that is the rule.”
