Bimbila Naas Assailants Stiil At Large

Family members of the late Naa Andani Dasana Abdullai II, the overlord of Bimbila, who was murdered last year, have called on the security apparatus to quicken the pace of the investigation to bring the perpetuators of the heinous crime to book.

Even though appreciation was shown the security for the professional manner they handled security issues occasioned by the gruesome murder, the Gbuhmayili family believes the act by the assailants was a huge indictment on the competence of the country’s security agency.

They wondered why someone like Braimah Damba, Tolon Naa was allowed to be walking free after he was declared wanted by the police to assist in investigations as far back as August 2014.

In a speech read on behalf of the family by Alhassan Sualisu at a ceremony held last Friday to mark the first anniversary of the late Naa Andani Dasana II, the family said they only hope the security would rise to the occasion and bring the assailants to book.

“Naa Andani Dasana II was a man of peace and his main objective, upon his enskinment was to unite Nanum as one unit to promote development”, they recounted.

The family added that they would uphold truth, strive for Nanum’s Unity and show genuine love to one another as a befitting memorial to the Late Andani, since that was his legacy.

Commending the government for its assistance in the burial of the late chief, Alhassan Sualisu appreciated the government for the concern it has shown for the peace and security of Nanum state.

Nyekinboligu Naa Yakubu Andani Dasana, the Regent of the area reiterated the need for the security agency to hasten investigations since their inactions was still breeding indiscipline.

He urged the government to step in given that and dispel rumours that the security personnel on the case were compromising their position with suspects and accomplices.

The District Chief Executive (DCE) for Naumba North, Alhaji Mohammed Ibn Abass, congratulated the Gbuhmayili family for their endurance during and after the murder of the late Naa Andani.

The DCE, while urging all to contribute to the peace of the area, could not forget to appreciate the traditional rollers especially the Kpatihinaa, one of the king makers for his role towards Nanum’s peace.

He described late Andani as a legend, peacemaker, a man of tradition and a renowned engineer.

Naa Andani was murdered on 19th June 2014 along with three others namely: Alhassan Abdul Mumin, Alhassan Tanko and Ziblim Issah Lahto-Na in a renewed fight in Bimbila in the Northern Region.

Four other people were severely injured in the clash between two feuding chieftaincy factions, a press release by the government last year stated.
