Stephen Appiah paying Gh20k not 30k for Testimonial Game

The National Sports Authority (NSA) has denied ever demanding Gh¢30, 000 from organizers of the June 27 testimonial game for former Black Stars player Stephen Appiah to have access to the Accra Sports Stadium.

The director of the NSA Joe Kpenge in an interview said they are rather charging the captain who led Ghana to its maiden World Cup in 2006 a non-negotiable rate of Gh¢20,000.

He said that is the best they can do for the national football hero. According to him, the NSA will take care of the security bills during the game. He clarified that the Gh¢30,000 sum being reported is charges for football events.

The organizers of the Testimonial Match – Primeval Consult – earlier called the bluff of the NSA saying, “they are talking to the right people.”

The match is scheduled to take place on June 27.
